could we have a post abt seminary in general? what its like on a day to day basis .... off shabosos, dorming, freedom, schedules, and other miscellaneous info?
OK well to each their own in every seminary..but on a day to do basis in seminarys..you have a few hrs a day of breaks..after a # of classes...each school splits its up accordingly...weather its 10 min recess and then an hr and 1/2 of lucnh and then a break in btwn till night classes..ifu have night classes every night..or whatever..or your "day off"once a week meaning you end class earlier and have the rest of the day off till curfew...in most seminary curfew during the week is 10:30...and motzi shabbosim its 11:00(again depenidng no the sem-some i know have 11:30/12:00 on motzi shabbosim)..at curfew time you always haave to sign in etc....in every seminary there is chessed once a week done -they uusally asign you a place-unless you have one that you want to do....its for about a few hes 2-4 or so.
each seminarys dorm conditons are really different...but they are all managable weather you want to manage with it or not...so you live with it...they give you plenty of hmwk time..that is what your breaks are for if you have and stuff..
abt doing chessed: its just w/ some random needy family? adn what if ur not the type of person hu can handle that? i mean, for skool i just drive cuz i cant deal w/ the one on one type chessed.
well it can be..but then again if you tell them you have someone to do chessed for then i think they would let u take care of it...chessed doesnt only mean needy..it can mean helping them cook for shabbos...taking kids to the park etc...the schools have their ppl that they usually do chessed for..or maybe request someone
goooooood luck! youll need it wherever you go- am i alloud to be honest? ok i will anyway!k so basically everyone will truthfully say its the ebst year of their lives so far! it was an amazing experience.... and their not lying- if its the right thing for you- go. but- its not all that fine and dandy. its a difficult year on all aspects. a year of deep introspection and you may not like what you find. its a year full of politics- and no one is spared from that. its a year full of teasts and reports. its a year of being careful with our money. its a year without your parents. its a year without your homem=ade food.its a year of shared bedrooms showers and bathrooms. its a year of possibly not having a place to go for shabbos every shabbos. its a year of nissayons on all aspects due to the fact that you are on your own. its a year that you will never forget. keep a journal- its amazing that thru all those hard stuff- you end up growing from your experiences and having a blast. you cant imagine it till you experience it!
